El último día en la tierra

Era un día soleado de una tarde de junio, la ciudad estaba llena de vida y la gente paseaba por sus calles hablando de los planes para los próximos días y poder disfrutar del buen tiempo.

It was a sunny, summer day in June. In a little town vibrant with life, its dwellers were strolling slowly in the streets. They were talking about their plans for the days to come: what to do when the weather had been so beautiful for a week.

Był słoneczny, czerwcowy wieczór. Miasteczko tętniło życiem, a mieszkańcy przechadzali sie beztrosko po ulicach. Rozmawiali o planach na najbliższe dni, by wykorzystać tak pięknę pogodę, jaka utrzymywała się juz od tygodnia.

Solo un chico, que se llamaba Lucas sentía algo extraño, que era el último día de su vida. Por eso se fue a la palaya y decidió terminar su libro titulado “El último día en la Tierra”.

Only one boy, named Lucas, had some forebodings that it was his last day of his life. He sat on the warm sand on the beach and decided to finish writing his book. Its title was "The last day on the Earth.”

Tylko jeden chłopiec, o imieniu Lucas miał dziwne przeczucie, że jest to ostatni dzień jego życia. Usiadł na plaży i postanowil dokończyć pisanie swojej książki, którą zatytułował:” Ostatni dzień na Ziemi ...”

Cuando Lucas puso el punto final, se dio cuenta y se sorprendió de que el cielo empezaba a acercarse y a estrecharse.

When he put a full stop at the end of the last sentence, he noticed with surprise that the sky was lowering. It was getting darker and darker as well.

Kiedy Lucas postawił ostatnią kropkę, zauważył ze zdziwieniem, że niebo powoli zaczyna się zniżać i ścieśniać.

Las sombras de las personas y objetos que le rodeaban se agrandaban rápidamente de forma sorprendente.

The shadows of the people and objects surrounding him were getting
longer and longer.

Cienie otaczających go osób i przedmiotów w nieprawodopodobnie szybko wydłużały się.

Cuando parecía que el cielo estaba a pocos metros de la Tierra, apareció algo extraño. ¡Era una estrella! Parecía que estaba hecha de los dedos de 5 personas jóvenes.

When the sky was about a few metres above the ground, something strange appeared. It was a star. Its shape looked like ten fingers of five young people joined by their tips. The star was moving in the sky.

Gdy niebo wydawało się być kilka metrów nad Ziemią, pojawiło się na nim coś dziwnego. Była to gwiazda! Wyglądała tak, jakby została stworzona z palców 5 młodych osób i mknęła nieboskłonem.

De pronto la gente empezó a elevarse al cielo. Volaban como los pétalos de una flor en el viento, se elevaban suavemente y desaparecían. Lucas se dio cuenta de que eran aquellas personas que la estrella había alumbrado.

Out of sudden, people started to rise up to the sky. They looked like a dandelion bobbing in the wind - they were rising lightly and then the were disappearing. Lucas noticed that there were those people, over whom the star had twinkled brighter before.

Nagle ludzie zaczęli wznosić sie ku niebu...Wyglądali jak dmuchawiec na wietrze – unosili sie lekko i zaraz znikali... Lukas zauwazył, że byli to Ci, nad którymi owa gwiazda błysneła jasniej.

A otros se los tragó la tierra. Su último gesto fue levantar la mano con la esperanza de que alguien los ayudara.

Others, however, were dragged underground. They raised their hands to show that they needed help. Then the ground was covered with fields of corn.

Inni jednak zapadali się pod ziemię, która w niewyjaśniony sposób zamieniała się w łany zbóż . Ostatnim gestem jaki wykonywali było podniesienie ręki z nadzieją, że ktoś im pomoże.

El chico no podía creer lo que estaba sucediendo. Se restregó los ojos y volvió a mirar al cielo que se acercaba a la Tierra. Estaba muy asustado porque estaba sucediendo lo que había escrito en el capítulo final de su libro.

The boy couldn't believe that it was true. He wiped his eyes and looked once again at the "falling" sky. He was terrified and shocked, because he was witnessing that everything he had described in the last chapter of his book was coming true.

Chłopiec nie mógł uwierzyć, że to, dzieje się naprawdę. Przetarł oczy i spojrzał jeszcze raz w “spadające” na Ziemię niebo.Był przerażony i wstrząśnięty, gdyż wszystko, co opisał w ostatnim rozdziale swej książki, wypełniało się na jego oczach.

Sabiendo lo que iba a suceder dentro de unos minutos, Lucas regresó a los recuerdos de sus mejores momentos vividos. Recordó el invierno del año anterior y como se había divertido con sus amigos jugando en la nieve, porque fue cuando por primera vez sintió la verdadera felicidad.

Being aware of that what was going to happen in a few minutes, Lucas thought about his best moments of his life. He remembered the previous winter and having fun with his friends in snow. It was the first time when he had felt really happy.

Mając świadomość tego, co wydarzy się za kilka minut, Lukas powrócił pamięcią do najwspanialszych momentów w swoim życiu. Przypomniał sobie ze

szłoroczną zimę i zabawę z przyjaciółmi na śniegu, podczas której, po raz pierwszy poczuł, że jest naprawdę szcześliwy.

Se quedó tranquilo, esperando el final, de pronto una estrella lo subió al cielo y lo llevó junto a los otros como el último de los salvados. La tierra se partió en pequeños pedacitos y más tarde se convirtieron en un polvo negro expandido por un blanco vacío.

In a flash, he became calm. The star carried him and other survivors and rose towards the sky. The Earth fell apart. Millions of its pieces changed into black dust dispersed in white vacuum.

W jednej chwili ogarnął go błogi spokój, a gwiazda uniosła w niebo wraz z innymi jako ostatniego ocalałego. Ziemia zaś rozpadła sie na miliony maleńkich kawałeczków, by po chwili zmienić się w czarny pył rozproszony w białej próżni....
